Banana Bundt Cake With Chocolate Ganache Recipe

This delicious banana bundt cake with silky chocolate ganache is a dish you'll prepare again and again.  


– 1 ½ cups mashed ripe bananas about 3 banana – 2 teaspoons lemon juice – 3 cups all-purpose flour – 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda – ¼ teaspoon salt – ¾ cup unsalted butter softened – 2 cups granulated sugar – 3 large egg – 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract – 1 ½ cups buttermilk For the ganache – 4 ounces semisweet chocolate chopped – ½ cup heavy cream


Preheat oven to 275°F. Grease and flour a 12-cup nonstick bundt pan or spray with baking spray.  

Step 1

Mix lemon juice and mashed bananas in a small bowl. Set aside.Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.  

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a large bowl with an electric mixer for 3 minutes until light and fluffy. Take care to mix after each egg. Add vanilla.  

Step 3

Mix the flour and buttermilk alternately, starting and ending with the flour. Mix with mashed bananas.  

Step 4

Bake batter in prepared pan for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until a toothpick pushed into the centre comes out clean.  

Step 5

Freeze the cake and pan for 45-60 minutes after baking. Cake will be moist. Remove cake from freezer and cool on rack for 3 hours. Invert cake and create chocolate ganache.  

Step 6

Chop chocolate in a medium bowl and set aside for ganache. Microwave heavy cream in a microwave-safe measuring cup on high for 1 minute until bubbles form.   

Step 7

Avoid overheating since cream boils. Let warm cream sit on chocolate for 3 minutes. Whisk the ingredients into a smooth chocolate glaze with a little whisk. Pour over cold cake.
