Delicious Loaded Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes Recipe

This family-friendly crock pot sloppy joe recipe is easy to make ahead. Sweet, acidic, and saucy, this classic sloppy joe dish is perfect!

– Olive oil, to coat – 2 lbs. ground beef – 1 green pepper, diced (optional) – 1 small yellow onion, diced – Salt and pepper – 4 Tablespoons brown sugar – 2 Tablespoons mustard – 1 1/2 cups ketchup – 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire – 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar – 2 Tablespoons water – 8 buns or roll – 8 slices American cheese – Bread and butter pickle – French fried onion

In a pan over medium-high heat, heat the oil. Put in the peppers and onions, and cook for about two minutes, until the onions start to soften.

Step 1

Move the vegetables to the side and add the ground beef. Spread it out in the pan. Leave the meat to cook for a few minutes so it can start to brown.

Step 2

Cut the beef into smaller pieces and keep cooking it and the vegetables together, stirring every now and then, until there is no more pink.

Step 3

Add salt and pepper to taste. Take out the fat from the pan if it's more than a tablespoon.

Step 4

Put the cooked beef and vegetables, along with the rest of the ingredients (except the rolls), into a slow cooker. Use a stir to mix.

Step 5

Turn the slow pot down to low and cook for two to three hours. After that, the crock pot can be set to warm and left that way for another one to two hours.

Step  6

Put a lot of the sloppy joe mix on the buns to serve. Put the onions, pickles, and cheese on top.
