Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Chewy, crunchy peanut butter cup rice krispie treats are full of chocolate and peanut butter.  

INGREDIENTS

– ½ cup unsalted butter – 2 packages mini-marshmallows 10-ounces each, divided use – 1 cup creamy peanut butter such as Jif or Skippy – pinch sea salt – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract – 5 cups Cocoa Krispies cereal – 5 cups Cap’n Crunch’s Peanut Butter Crunch cereal For the Topping – 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chip – 1 cup Reese’s peanut butter baking chip – 1 bag Reese’s Minis Unwrapped 7.6-ounce

INSTRUCTIONS

Line a 9 x 13-inch baking sheet with foil or parchment and coat with nonstick cooking spray.  

Step 1

On low, melt butter in a big pan. Set aside 2 cups marshmallows. Stir the remaining marshmallows into the pan until melted.   

Step 2

Stir in the peanut butter until smooth and melted. Remove pan from heat. Add sea salt and vanilla and stir well.  

Step 3

Add cereal gradually and toss until coated. Mix in the reserved 2 cups of marshmallows until equally combined.  

Step 4

Press the ingredients into the pan with a buttered spatula or clean hands. We want the ooey-gooey factor, so don't press too hard.  

Step 5

Mix chocolate and peanut butter chips in a microwave-safe bowl.  

Step 6

Stir the chips after each 30-second microwave session at 50% power until they melt and the mixture is smooth.

Step 7

Apply this mixture to peanut butter cup rice krispie treats and immediately top with the bag of Reese's Minis Unwrapped cups. Cool completely at room temp.
